Hallgate Primary School is situated in the heart of Cottingham. It is a popular school at the centre of the local community and admits up to 45 pupils per year group.
The Hallgate admissions process follows the East Riding Local Authority Policy and all applications for places at the start of the year, or for in year transfers, should be made via the East Riding Local Authority. This can be done either by contacting them by phone or via an application form on their website.

For those pupils due to start school in the September following their 4th birthday, the application process is open from October through to January. We invite all prospective parents to attend one of our Open Mornings in the Autumn term when parents are taken around the school by Year 6 pupils, and also have the opportunity to talk to the Head Teacher and Early Years Leader.
Children starting in Foundation Stage are invited for two half day induction visits in the summer term. Parents and carers are also offered a home visit to enable staff to meet each child in their own surroundings. These visits have proved very supportive and are highly recommended.
Where children are transferring from another school at the start of the year or mid year, Hallgate works to help each child settle quickly by allocating class buddies to befriend them. Parents and children are invited to visit Hallgate School to look round before starting at the school.
