Hallgate Primary School

East Riding of Yorkshire Council would like to reiterate that schools, colleges and childcare providers will be closed for the vast majority of children until further notice. Many parents working in critical sectors may be able to ensure their child is kept at home. Every child who can be safely cared for at home, should be. Provision will be made for children of critical workers and vulnerable children.

Residential Visits

The children get two opportunities to go on a residential visit whilst in KS2. These trips allow the children to experience a range of activities they don't usually have the chance to participate in at school and learn new life skills.

The Year 6 children are invited to Bewerley Park, near Pateley Bridge, in Niddrdale on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park for 5 days. They have to make their beds, keep their dormitory tidy and look after their own belongings for the week whilst taking part in a variety of activities from Ghyll Exploring to Climbing.

The Year 4 children are invited to East Barnby which is located close to the Jurassic coast, a few miles from Whitby and within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park for 3 days. As well as making their beds and looking after their own things, with a little bit of help, they get to experience a variety of activities from Low Ropes to Canoeing.
