Friends of Hallgate Primary School
Who are the Friends of Hallgate Primary School?
The Friends of Hallgate Primary School are made up of parents/carers of the school, who organise fundraising and social events throughout the school year. The purpose of the events is to benefit everyone and money raised is spent on items and activities that the school wouldn't otherwise have the money for.
Regular events include school discos, Christmas Fairs and Surprise Shops (Christmas, Mothers Day, Fathers Day).
We hold meetings approximately every term or so. Our meetings are very informal and fresh faces are always welcome, along with new ideas. By joining/supporting the Friends, it gives a great opportunity for parents / carers and other family members to become more involved in the life of the school, meet others and have some fun.
We really hope that you will be able to join us!
You can now make contact with us directly through Facebook or via email: hallgateprimaryfriends@gmail.com
We have some great events planned. If you are able to help at any event, even if this is just for an hour, or if you have any ideas and would like to join the committee, we would love to hear from you!
Fundraising Missions
The money raised over the years has been put towards climbing equipment on the school field, astroturf on the playground, the school library and outdoor learning resources. Our events meant that over half the cost of the school library, for example, was funded by the generosity of parents/carers and wider family members at events.
We are now working on developing outdoor learning across school, which is an important part of this year's School Development Plan.
Each class is also provided with an amount to be used as needed, for example, to subsidise school visits/visitors. We also pay for the end of Year 6 leaving event and leavers' t-shirts.
