Online Safety at Hallgate
Online safety at Hallgate is an important part of keeping children safe. We have extensive security measures in place in schools, which are monitored both internally and externally, to help safeguard children from potential dangers or unsuitable material.
Our filtering system delivers daily reports to our DSL and Headteacher as well as instant notifications of any serious breaches. Online safety incidents are recorded on CPOMs and managed by the appropriate member of staff.
We feel that the best way to be successful is to work in collaboration with parents/carers to ensure that the message delivered to children is a consistent one.
Our online safety curriculum is based on ‘Education for a Connected World’ supported by ‘Project Evolve’. This gives clear progression for the various strands of online safety. This is used from EYFS through to Year 6 and includes delivery in: Computing lessons, RSE lessons and assemblies (from staff and the school’s digital leaders).
