The Hallgate Early Years Foundation Stage Unit is made up of children from:

• Foundation 1 (Pre-school) Aged 3- 4
• Foundation 2 (Reception) Aged 4 -5

Children in Foundation 1 and Foundation 2 learn together and share our well resourced indoor and outdoor areas. The children are working with a team of qualified staff led by Mrs Dean who is the Phase leader, a very experienced Early Years teacher.  The Foundation 1 (Pre-school) team, is led by Mrs Lee who is a qualified teacher. 

As a parent you have already helped your child to make major steps in his/her learning. Our aim is to work in partnership with you to build on their strengths, interests and experiences by providing a stimulating and relevant curriculum in a happy, safe environment.

Applications and allocation of places

FS1 admits children who are 3 or 4 years old when they start.

Application forms can be obtained from the school office. Parents can apply for a place in F1 by completing the expression of interest form on the school website or from the school office. When a place has been allocated parents  will then be asked to complete a registration form and the East Riding Parental Agreement and Declaration Form for the Delivery of Free Early Education. 

Places will be offered to parents :-

Places from January 2024 - letters will be issued to parents/carers in the Autumn term.

Places from April 2024 - letters to be issued to parents in the Spring term.

Places from September 2024 - letters issued to parents in the Summer term.
