Hallgate Primary School is situated in the centre of the historic village of Cottingham.  Our School’s philosophy and ethos is shared by all staff, which is to provide a caring and secure environment, in which every child is valued and respected. We are a lively and positive school who place a high value on the happiness and success of our children and encourage all members of the school community to adopt a supportive and respectful approach toward one and other.

Hallgate school  occupies modern, purpose built facilities, which stand in the shadow of the grand 14th century church of St Marys.  Our school is well resourced and offers a pleasant environment in which to work and learn. Our catchment area encompasses a wide range of demographics and this is reflected in our diverse school population.

Hallgate Primary School is fortunate to have an active and supportive Governing Body and also an active Friends of HPS that organises various fund raising and social events.
